About Mirissa
A small crescent of sand between two headlands, with Coconut Tree Hill on the eastern point — the most photographed spot on the south coast, and busy at sunset because of it.
Mirissa is the departure point for blue whale watching. Boats leave before dawn between roughly November and April; outside that window the sea is too rough and anyone selling you a trip is selling you a rough morning. Book a smaller boat with a licensed operator.
Getting to Mirissa
