About Negombo
Negombo is the practical answer to a late landing or an early flight: it sits just north of the airport, so you're at your hotel in minutes rather than fighting into Colombo. That convenience has made it the standard first and last night for a lot of Sri Lanka trips.
It's a working fishing town underneath the hotels. The morning fish market on the beach is genuinely worth setting an alarm for, and the old Dutch canal still runs through the middle of town.
Getting to Negombo
The shortest transfer we run — a few minutes from arrivals. Worth booking ahead anyway if you land late, so someone is waiting rather than you negotiating at the rank at 2am.
